In an era of remote learning, how do we stay creatively connected to our friends, our school communities, and the experience of being a high schooler in 2020? This workshop offers students the opportunity to use multiple forms of creative expression to document and connect with each other at the intersection of COVID 19, racial justice protests, and a highly polarized election. Students will journal, draw and collage in order to compile and share an original zine that encapsulates this moment in time.
Inés Paulina Ramírez is a multidisciplinary artist based in Portland, OR. Her work has traveled between Mexico, the United States and Ecuador. Her videos, performances, publications, community murals, graphics and installations have been presented at the House of Culture Santa Clara, Cuba; the Museum of Modern Art, Cuenca, Ecuador; the Anthropological Museum of Contemporary Art, Guayaquil, Ecuador; and Proceso Contemporary Art Gallery, Cuenca-Ecuador. She is a current fellow of the IPRC Artists & Writers in Residence Program.
