Meets via: Virtual
Tuesdays and Thursdays via Zoom 5-6:30pm | March 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17
In this virtual workshop we’ll look at how games combine different kinds of skills and media into singular, playable experiences. By talking with working game designers, developers, and artists, we’ll learn not only how games are made today but imagine what can be created in the future. As part of this three-week, six-session workshop, students will create a design document outlining a game of any medium (board, role playing, video, etc.) by thinking through the ways their idea combines visuals, sound, content, and game systems to create a whole experience.
Will Hindmarch is a freelance writer and designer of games, graphics, and narratives. His experience helping create everything from tabletop role playing games to video games, from poetry to comic books, has confirmed Will’s belief in the intersectional power of games to bring people and art forms together.
